Hello Austin neighbors!
Declutter Bee wishes you all a very happy, exciting and clutter-free New Year!
January is the perfect time to refresh your space and mindset. And NAPO celebrates the "Get Organized Month".
I know how it feels when you have had a really busy November December hosting, celebrating, decorating, eating, drinking, and/or traveling. And all you want to do is relax, recuperate and strategize for the Year. I am with you. I am writing this blog today sitting in a heated blanket because it is really cold and raining outside.
However, I am going to implore on you to take some small, simple and straightforward steps to kickstart your decluttering journey this year:
Start Small
There are two ways you can go about it: Do the difficult task first to get it over with or start with a really easy task to build momentum.
Celebrate all small victories to stay motivated.
Holiday decorations and gifts
Sort and store holiday decorations in labeled bins
Did you get gifts you know you will not use? You can create a re-gift pile and label them, or consider donating some of them
Tidy Gift-Wrapping Supplies
Sort ribbons, bows, and paper
Organize everything in designated compartments in the storage containers and/or plastic bins
Refresh the Fridge
Discard expired items, left-overs you won't have, expired food items
Organize contents into zones for better accessibility (sauces, fruits, vegetables, drinks, left-overs, bread and eggs, ready to eat snacks/meals)
Maintain Regular Decluttering Sessions
Schedule quarterly or bi-annual sessions to reassess belongings.
Remember, decluttering is a journey, not a race. If you find the process overwhelming or need personalized assistance, Declutter Bee is here to help.
